BIM at ETEM Facade Conference 2019

Nemetschek Bulgaria was among the participants at the 5th bi-annual ETEM Conference, held at Sofia Event Center on November 16th 2019. The sold-out international event focused on the latest façade technologies designed for creative architecture, with key topics the exploration of the latest approaches in façade engineering design and the future of architecture in the context of a changing environment, effective sun shading, digitization and automation.

In our very own conference booth, we presented the many benefits of the BIM (Building Information Modeling) platform. For example – controlling risk by enhancing agility, enhanced decision-making and improving quality with digital prototyping. Visitors could learn more about our solutions: Vectorworks – BIM design software allowing designers to advance their ideas from concept through completion, FM Center – the all-in-one solution designed to meet the needs of facility and property managers, as well as investors and owners; and Bluebeam – the software that provides smart, simple solutions for paperless workflows that leverage the PDF format.

Special attention was given to the software solution Bluebeam Revu – creating an unprecedentedly effective bridge between construction and architecture professionals. Bluebeam Revu is a proven way (trusted by the likes of Skanska ESS and ARUP) to finish major, complex projects on time, to optimize budgets, to constantly track project progress, execute quality control and distribute vital information more effectively.

ETEM visitors got to meet Nemetschek Bulgaria experts from our Bluebeam team, read and see more about the solution, as well as take part in a lucky draw for a chance to win a great laser ruler. We’d like to thank the hundreds of people who stopped by our stand, got to know this and that about BIM and participated in the lucky draw!

ETEM speakers included Phillippe Fouché (Architect at SAOTA Architecture & Design), Miron Mutyaba (Senior Designer at Zaha Hadid Architects), Angel Zahariev (Founder and Architect at A&A Architects), Daniel Bosia (Design Director at Thornton Tomasetti), Pablo Zamorano (Head of Geometry and Computational Design at Heatherwick Studio), Steven Kennedy (Associate Principal at Grimshaw Architects) and many others.

During their presentations, Miron Mutyaba elaborated on the challenges he and his team faced while working on the 5-star Morpheus Hotel in Cotai, Macao; Daniel Bosia detailed on one of his bureau’s most important projects – the twin skyscrapers Petronas Towers in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia; and Angel Zahariev explained the concepts behind some major A&A projects in Sofia Capital City and Business Park Sofia.
